Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders to understand and document their data requirements translating these needs into effective reporting products. They will lead the development of advanced Excel and Power BI reports to support programme managers and provide actionable insights to stakeholders and the executive. The role involves managing adhoc data and reporting requests across a wide range of subject matters and datasets as well as developing implementing and maintaining SQL queries and scripts to ensure efficient data extraction and transformation. The candidate will maintain DAX formulas PowerQuery M code data models and visuals within Power BI dashboards while ensuring data quality integrity and security in line with departmental and Australian Government policies. To succeed in this role the candidate should demonstrate high proficiency in SQL DAX and PowerQuery M along with experience using relational SQL databases. They must possess expertise in Power BI for data visualisation and reporting coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present complex information clearly to nontechnical audiences. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to data accuracy are essential as is the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. The role also requires the capability to lead analytical work in a fastpaced dynamic environment managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines. Finally the candidate should be a selfmotivated learner capable of independently acquiring new technical skills and solving problems as they arise.

- Business Intelligence Level 2 (SFIA):
Supports the development of routine business intelligence reports using standard tools and techniques. Assists in preparing data drawn from existing sources for reporting purposes.
- Data Communication Level 2 (DCF):
Able to craft and present clear narratives that explain insights from various data sources and outputs. Comfortable questioning data and interpreting results and able to respond to technical queries in a manner appropriate to the audience. Communicates effectively across technical and nontechnical stakeholders involved in data collection management and use including clients managers and data professionals. Clearly explains how data relates to the context in which it is applied.
- Data Outputs Products or Services Level 2 (DCF):
Takes responsibility for delivering a data product output or service. Can produce these in line with established procedures and systems and articulate the rationale behind decisions made throughout the process.
- Data Visualisation Level 3 (SFIA):
Utilises data visualisation tools under guidance to design and produce visuals. Selects the most suitable visualisation method from available options and works with end users to prototype and refine visual outputs based on their needs.
- Statistical Data Analysis Level 2 (DCF):
Proficient in using specialised statistical software to apply statistical models. Capable of understanding and modifying existing code in relevant programming languages to perform analytical tasks.
