What youll do at OhioMHAS:
Under direction of the Regional Psychiatric Hospital (RPH) Forensic Director/Director of Social Work (DSW) or designee; assists in monitoring the status of individuals who are presently waiting for an RPH bed after an order from a court has been received by an collaboration with the jail mental health staff assess for any changes in acuity that could place inmate higher on the RPH waitlist which includes physically visiting jails in the RPH catchment area to meet & engage inmates waiting for an RPH bed; collect information from jail mental health staff act as a liaison between jail mental heath staff and the RPH.
May participate in the process of establishing implementing & directing social service programs & treatment system objectives; develops & designs treatment intervention techniques & procedures; evaluates & modifies treatment systems to be responsive to patients progress & ability to change behavior; assess inmates progress towards competency restoration; which may include administration of competency to stand trial screen tool; make recommendation to the Forensic Director/Director of Social Work (DSW) or designee of changes to triage &/or ability to access competency restoration at a different level of care &/or a reevaluation of competency to stand trial; Notify team & jail mental health staff if it is believed inmate is an imminent risk to self or others.
Maintains necessary documentation to satisfy requirements of federal state & local agencies & accrediting bodies; completes & maintains records (e.g. bio psychosocial assessments admission/discharge & aftercare summaries progress notes referrals & discharge/transitional documents; competency to stand trial).Document all findings & action according to RPH OhioMHAS and DAS policies.
Establishes & maintains working relationships with other facilities agencies & support services (e.g. RPH Catchment areas area jail mental health staff local courts or community agencies) in order to coordinate referrals & conduct followup; communitybased contacts may occur for individuals the court has placed on bond.
Attends & participates in training sessions department procedure & policy review meetings and performs other duties as necessary.

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
