STUDENT SUPERVISOR/ SUPPLY STUDENT SUPERVISOR

Up to 3 hours per day (dependent on location)

Locations: City of Guelph Schools County schools in Rockwood

Erin Elora Fergus Arthur & Mount Forest

Pay rate: $20.02 per hour 4 vacation pay

Under the direction of the Principal/VicePrincipal or designate the supervisor will monitor supervise and ensure the safety and security of students during the indoor/outdoor lunch/recess period. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with children of various ages. They will possess patience flexibility good communication and conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain calm and handle emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Be aware of school rules and emergency plans
  • Be prompt in arriving for supervision assignment
  • Supervising students during lunch times encouraging children to eat healthy helping children open packaging and cleaning up small spills
  • Be aware of specific students medical/behaviour situations and keep such information confidential
  • Ensure the safety of all children occurs at all times both indoors and outdoors
  • Respond to any incidents and report any serious infractions to the school Principal/Vice Principal
  • Ensure that students who are ill or injured are referred to the appropriate medical attention and report any serious accidents immediately
  • Cooperate with the Principal Vice Principal and teachers to maintain consistent disciplinary practices and school processes and procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with children
  • Prior voluntary experience in a school setting is an asset
  • Team player and the ability to work closely with students and staff
