Job Description

The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of Iowa is seeking an Administrative Services Coordinator.

Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) is the home of two nationally ranked graduate programs in Audiology and SpeechLanguage Pathology. We are seeking an Administrative Services Coordinator to serve as the primary initial contact for the academic office and provide administrative support to the Departmental Executive Officer administrator faculty students and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing marketing materials for a variety of media.
  • Manage student course scheduling.
  • Serve as a welcoming and helpful face of the department for faculty students staff and the public.
  • Assist with departmental accreditation processes and project management tasks.
  • Assist with administration of student clinical placements.

Education Required

  • A bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months demonstrated working experience in an administrative office support role.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 Zoom and Teams. Willingness and ability to learn new software platforms as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to transmit receive and interpret ideas information and needs effectively through telephone email and in person with a variety of people who may include faculty staff students visitors and clinic patients.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills and the ability to exercise good independent judgment and discretion in handling responsibilities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a clinical environment.
  • Working ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives projects groups or activities making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Working knowledge of University policies procedures and regulations.
