About the Role:

The Team:

The Director Communications for S&P Global Ratings will play a key role in elevating the visibility and reputation of S&P Global Ratings within the Americas region. You will work closely with senior leaders in the Ratings business as well as global Ratings communications and S&P Global communications teams to implement and execute strategic communications initiatives that align with divisional and enterprise goals. This position will focus on driving external communications strategy media relations and thought leadership efforts to support S&P Global Ratings market position and brand.

You will report to the Senior Director of Communications for S&P Global Ratings ensuring alignment with the broader S&P Global communications strategy.

The Impact:

You will:

  • Support the development and of external communications strategies for S&P Global Ratings in the Americas region enhancing the divisions reputation and market positioning.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership in S&P Global Ratings to craft compelling narratives that communicate key strategic initiatives product innovations and thought leadership in the credit ratings industry.

  • Manage and grow relationships with toptier media outlets analysts and industry influencers securing highprofile media coverage that positions S&P Global Ratings as a leader in credit ratings and financial markets.

  • Develop the divisions messaging and ensure external communications align with S&P Globals corporate values vision and strategic goals.

  • Provide strategic PR support during crises developing proactive messaging and leading reputation management efforts in challenging situations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams across S&P Global to ensure consistent external messaging and alignment with the broader corporate communications strategy.

Responsibilities:

External Communications Strategy:

  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of the external communications strategies for S&P Global Ratings in the Americas region ensuring messaging aligns with both divisional and enterprisewide communication goals.

  • Partner with senior leaders in Ratings to craft clear impactful messaging that highlights the divisions capabilities market position and thought leadership.

  • Build and manage proactive media relations strategies securing media placements press coverage and thought leadership opportunities in tier1 global and regional outlets.

  • Help develop and manage S&P Global Ratings thought leadership program collaborating with subject matter experts to position the division as an authoritative voice in the credit ratings and financial services space.

  • Support crises efforts developing rapidresponse communication strategies and ensuring timely consistent messaging during critical events.

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure that external messaging aligns with broader corporate objectives.

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with toptier media outlets including financial journalists analysts and industry influencers to enhance S&P Global Ratings visibility and influence.

  • Drive a media relations strategy that includes securing highimpact media placements thought leadership opportunities and press coverage across global and regional outlets.

  • Oversee media interactions including interviews and press briefings to ensure accurate representation of the Ratings divisions activities and strategic initiatives.

  • Support media speaker development through training and coaching.

Measurement and Reporting:

  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of external communications efforts using metrics sentiment analysis and media coverage tracking.

  • Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to guide decisionmaking and improve the effectiveness of communications strategies.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is 100379 to 176444.75. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location as well as experience level skill set training licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
