Job Summary:
Zinkworks is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) for a 6week contract to support a project requiring expertise in Graph Databases and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration optimization and ensuring the performance security and scalability of our database infrastructure. Experience with Google Cloud Spanner is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Graph Databases ensuring optimal performance security and availability.
- Configure monitor and optimize databases hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Implement best practices for database backup recovery and security.
- Optimize database queries and indexing strategies to improve application performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve databaserelated issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas.
- Provide recommendations for database scalability and reliability improvements.
- Document database configurations processes and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with a focus on Graph Databases.
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) database services.
- Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Proficiency in database backup recovery and security practices.
- Handson experience with database monitoring tools and techniques.
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with Google Cloud Spanner. Upskilling could be required.
- Familiarity with data modeling and schema design for Graph Databases.
- Understanding of database replication and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience in automating database administration tasks using scripting languages.
