Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of the clinical coordinator for the Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences Sonography Program include working in partnership with the Radiologic Technology clinical coordinator(s) in the management and oversight of clinical education for medical imaging students. Responsibilities also include teaching and service related to a clinical faculty position. Teaching involves classroom laboratory and clinical courses at the undergraduate level. Service includes administrative and committee responsibilities at the Program School and University levels as well as community and professional activities. Faculty are expected to pursue personal/professional development through continuing education work toward advanced degrees and participate in professional activities that will support and promote the program. Specific sonography clinical coordinator responsibilities are assigned by the Director of Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences and may include but are not limited to the following: Correlates clinical education with didactic education Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction Evaluates students Supports the sonography program director to help assure effective program operation Participates in the assessment process Cooperates with the sonography program director in periodic review and revision of clinical course materials Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development Maintains current knowledge of program policies procedures and student progress Assumes all duties and responsibilities of a Clinical Track Professor in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences
