Job Description
EurasiaGroup is looking to hire a video producer for a new media venture run out ofthe Office of the President in our New York Headquarters. The coreresponsibility of this position will be to own the process from conception toexecution of producing and editing a weekly 2030 minute digitalvideo series on geopolitics.The show will be hosted by Ian Bremmerfeaturing a combination of live and recorded video mostly monologue andinterview format. You will have an eye for a good story a comprehensiveunderstanding of geopolitics and be creative and savvy about creating compellingsmart but not wonky content on global politics for digital audiences. Inaddition to the show you may also work on additional short content. You shouldhave solid experience pitching shooting and editing video content. Shootingwill be mostly in NYC but with occasional travel. The applicant should be avoracious consumer of video content in its many forms and fluent in packagingand posting video content.
Responsibilities
- Create quickturn daily/weekly video content for mobile social and digital audiences
- Draft and update the production schedule that includes content strategy shot location guest booking and marketing
- Collaborate with talent to conceive the weekly show agenda topics guest ideas and other new segment ideas
- Book guests and arrange logistics
- Prepare research talking points interview questions and other copy as needed for talent
- Work with cameraperson and EG staff to coordinate shooting editing and scheduling needs
- Quickly adjust content and production needs to fit the talents busy travel and work schedule
- Edit shows and related content for digital distribution.
- Utilize text graphics & 3rd party footage to build engaging segments
- Package and post digital content across all channels
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferably in journalism and/or the social sciences.
- 3 years professional experience writing producing and editing digital video
- Experience with Adobe Premiere and familiarity with After Effects Photoshop and Illustrator
- Background in nonfiction storytelling journalism writing social media
- General knowledge of and interest in current events and global politics
- Strong organizational skills with experience juggling multiple deadlines quick turnarounds and working in a fastpaced environment
- Experience pitching video ideas and seeing them through scripting production editing and publishing
- Intimate knowledge of social media and an ability to recognize and create things people will want to share
