Overall Responsibility:
A Transportation Engineer2 supports the projects PM and team through efficient plan production. Must be selfmotivated individual that works well independently in a teamoriented environment. Must be able to make independent & design decisions |
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Firm proficiency in developing more complex roadway & intersection alignments/layouts rightofwayplans and drainage plans
- Firm understanding of hydrology and drainage design
- Proficient at phased E&SC plans & BMP design
- A firm understanding of GDOT Microstation and InRoads standards
- Ability to quickly grasp and apply new design procedures/ordinances
- Ability to coordinate with utility providers for utility relocations
- Efficiently generate cross sections & profiles in Microstation & InRoads/OpenRoads.
- Preparation of Signing and Marking Plans
- Preparation of Construction Phasing Plans
- GDOT PDP experience and knowledge of GDOTs PPG and EDG
- Basic surveying knowledge and ability to interpret and evaluate the quality of survey data and documentation.
- Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Ability to anticipate projects needs in terms of scope and schedule budget client expectation and SEI resources.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge to other engineers.
- Excellent communications and relationship building skills.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Experience Proficiencies Skills and Certifications:
- Bachelors degree (BS) in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited fouryear college or university.
- Minimum 4 year of related study and design experience.
- Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) in Georgia required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia preferred.
- Firm understanding of Microstation Inroads/OpenRoads
- Working knowledge of Hydraflow Stormsewer Hec1 Hec2.
- Working knowledge Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Project and Adobe/PDF Exchange.
- Must possess current valid drivers license and Social Security Card or other documentation for EVerify. EOE.
