  • Job Title: Bookstore Support Staff Summer
    Reports to: Bookstore Coordinator
    Terms and Conditions: Parttime up to 8 hours per day June 22025 August 8 2025.
    Salary: $21.55/hour per current CPA Collective Bargaining Agreement or current CPA Grade 3 rate
    FLSA Status: Nonexempt.

    or OPRF is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park Ill. a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a oneschool district with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200 courses a variety of programs for students with special needs 75 clubs and activities and 29 competitive sports. We prepare our students well for postsecondary success with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 94 graduation rate.

    Summary:
    Extra help needed to accept textbooks from current students. Clean and repair books for use in Summer school 2025 and the 202526 school year. Must receive and prepare new book and supply purchases. Assemble art kits for students and teachers for the next school year. Set up North Cafeteria for book pickup during Registration week. Complete other tasks as assigned by the Bookstore Coordinator and/or clerks.

    Job Description:
    Will be continually lifting moving sorting cleaning repairing textbooks and checking each page for writing and/or highlighting. Make ready discontinued textbooks to be recycled by cutting off covers from spine. Will be expected to clean the area youre working in including sweeping washing down tables and moving excess cardboard to recycling bins in respect to the Building and Grounds Department. Will help make North Cafeteria ready for book distribution during registration week and will also be expected to help empty the N. Cafeteria of all Bookstore materials after schedule/ID/book pickup week closes Friday August 9th. Must be able to stand long periods of time lift up to 50 lbs. and accept any other duties as requested by the Bookstore Coordinator and/or clerks.

    General Information:
    This position will begin on Monday June 2 2025 and end on Friday August 8th 2025. All (except those leaving for college) must be available to work every day during registration week beginning August 4th 2025 through August 8th 2025. The hours are generally Monday Thursday 8:00AM 12:00PM with a 15 minute break. Hours can vary depending upon the work available. August hours during registration week could be extended until 6PM.

    Qualifications:
    Previous experience in the Bookstore; has shown to understand how to be a team player and willing to help in any task asked of them; has excellent customer service skills and understands importance of an accurate inventory; and importance of accuracy in checking in and out textbooks using Skyward.
