Position Summary:
This position will create meaningful learning opportunities and advocate for gender and social justice through the engagement and empowerment of students and the greater GVSU community.
Salary and Benefits:
Minimum starting salary of $58000 commensurate with experience
Primary Duties:
Oversee the Replenish Basic Needs Centers (the student food resource) including management of the location staffing budgeting stocking publicity and marketing and assessment (annual reports data collection etc..
Responsible for food justice related collaborations both on and off campus as well as locating and pursuing external funding opportunities.
Create content and deliver presentations on issues related to gender and social justice topics in various settings including classrooms residence halls in the community and other locations.
Create implement and assess programs and events.
Supervise and provide leadership to graduate assistants student workers interns and volunteers.
Manage website social media and overall online presence of the Center for Women and Gender Equity.
Oversee the development efforts and fundraising events in conjunction with campus partners.
Participate in the design and implementation of short and longterm strategic planning and annual assessment.
Participate in divisional and universitywide projects and committees as assigned.
Oversee budget of annual programs Replenish and other areas of oversight.
Assist leadership in oversight and management of daytoday operations.
Perform other duties as required/assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Bachelors degree in women and gender studies student affairs social work or related field.
3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
Experience managing and supervising teams and projects.
Experience directing programming efforts from design to assessment.
Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
Excellent written verbal presentation interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work with students in crisis using a trauma informed lens and familiarity with best practices in this area.
Understanding of and commitment to issues of diversity gender equity and social justice.
A high degree of confidentiality discretion professional judgment collaboration and the ability to build strong relationships.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Masters degree in women and gender studies student affairs social work or related field.
5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
Higher education experience.
Experience developing administering and evaluating student programming and events.
Experience developing and delivering diversity equity and inclusion education workshops and training.
Budget grant writing implementation and assessment experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and work toward shared team goals.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
