Job Description

Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelors degree in information technology Computer Science or a related field. A masters degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience in leading crossfunctional teams multidisciplinary environments and enterprisewide data and analytics programs operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within a matrix organization.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable P&L impact in complex enterpriselevel environments.
  • Experience working within matrixed organizations and integrating crosscorporate processes to achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Strong background in building data governance and management frameworks that support highquality secure and compliant data usage.
  • Experience in integrating complex crosscorporate processes and information strategies and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards.

Additional Qualifications

Skills:

  • Financial acumen: Proven ability in aligning data initiatives with P&L objectives including budget management Return on Investment analysis and value measurement.
  • Transformation Experience: Proven experience in leading largescale transformation initiatives including the adoption of modern technologies.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective IT strategies that support business objectives and drive growth.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proven influencing and collaboration skills

Knowledge:

  • Indepth technical knowledge of business processes and the associated data to facilitate business process transformation leveraging data analytics and AI
  • Understanding of business objectives and goals; chemical industry domain expertise; and knowledge of data & analytics concepts methods and techniques.
  • Comprehensive awareness of data protection regulations and ethical considerations in the deployment of AI solutions.

Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished and resultsdriven Director of Data Analytics and AI to join our team. This leadership role will not only drive data and analytics strategy but will also be accountable for delivering measurable P&L value through innovative datadriven solutions. You will leverage data analytics and AI to drive business value foster a datadriven culture and ensure the effective governance and utilization of data assets and ecosystem across the organization.

This role will drive the creation and management of our data and analytics strategy and operating model. The Director of Data Analytics and AI is responsible for establishing leading and operating the data & analytics function; building trust and managing data; evolving technology capabilities and developing a talent and data and analytics culture. The role will act as a strategic partner to the executive team by translating data insights into actionable business outcomes ensuring the data is managed a key business asset across the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Defines a comprehensive data analytics and AI strategy including vision drivers and outcomes (revenue growth cost optimization and overall P&L performance). Leads the creation (and assure the ongoing relevance) of the organizations Data Analytics and AI strategy in collaboration with the CIO executive leadership team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develops and institutes a robust operating model for data analytics and AI that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the strategy. The operating model includes the ecosystem architectures and delivery model.
  • Build partnerships with executive leadership to ensure that data is being managed as a business asset data is AIready and by tracking and measuring the value derived from those data assets and communicating this clearly to stakeholders and executives.
  • Lead crossfunctional teams in the design implementation and scaling of analytics and AI solutions. Drive innovation by identifying new data sources and use cases that deliver competitive differentiation and financial returns. Maintains authority and accountability for the data assets and of the analytics used for decision making and AI solutions that automate decisions and augment human performance.
  • Creates and oversees a centralized data management / data engineering service for sharing certified data products to ensure quality traceability timeliness usability and costeffectiveness.
  • Oversees delivery models methods and practices for creation of data analytics and AI products and to ensure consistent application and use of data and analytics solutions and services including data science.
  • Evolves technology capabilities for the Data Analytics and AI platform to align these initiatives with IT infrastructure and policies and drive technology innovation across the organization.
  • Establishes and maintains trust in AIready data assets by instituting governance mechanisms for data including fostering data stewardship across business data domains. Includes other leaders that share responsibility for data such as security privacy risk and compliance leaders.
  • Understands regulatory requirements relevant data protection laws and regulations such as GDPR EU AI Act and CCPA and industryspecific standards. Ensures the organizations data practices are compliant in collaboration with legal and compliance.
  • Oversees the ethical and responsible use of data and algorithms used for artificial intelligence analytics and automated decision making. Establish guidelines and practices that prevent misuse of data and protect individual privacy beyond regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Owns the development of a datadriven culture related competencies behaviors and data and AI literacy across the enterprise. Leads these transformation efforts by developing D&A talent and maturing the D&A capability of the organization.
  • Lead datadriven innovation for the enterprise including investigation adoption and exploitation of artificial intelligence. Identifying new kinds types and sources of data to enable business value innovation throughout the organization and enable new use cases.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging skills and technologies ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of innovations that deliver financial and operational value.
  • Other duties as assigned.
