Job Description

The Retail SalesAssociate delivers worldclass customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers fax machines pointofsale devices and package management software. The Retail Sales Associate also assists in packing items for shipping servicing instore mailbox customers and processing returns for our corporate retail partners. The Associate expertly assists our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products services and bestvalue options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.

The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience strong computer and internet skills a high school diploma or GED a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn various aspects of the business.

This position is for the retail location of The UPS Store not the warehouse or corporate. The UPS Store is a network of individually owned and operated franchised servicecenters specializing in small business solutions.

Store hours are Mon Fri8:30am to 7:00pm. Sat 10:00am to 5:00pm Sun 11:00am to 4pm with weekend availability being mandatory.

Compensation depends on skills experience and progress.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers outstanding customer service to walkin customers and telephone inquiries
  • Continuously practices good listening skills with customers UPS Store team members and leadership
  • Takes ownership of the customers shipping needs and offers viable solutions
  • Takes action to learn all product and service offerings alternative solutions and industry trends
  • Operates equipment software and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
  • Maintains a clean organized and safe working environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • This position requires 1 to 2 years of previous customer facing retail experience
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Able to crosssell and upsell products and services
  • Excellent packing skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and POS devices
  • Outstanding phone skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including spelling and math
  • Prompt reliable and responsible
  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • Morning

  • Weekends (mandatory as required)
