BluePearl Pet Hospital in NYC is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Cardiology team. As a Cardiology LVT youll play a vital role in improving the lives of pets with heart conditions working alongside boardcertified cardiologists to provide advanced care. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes from assisting in diagnostic procedures like echocardiograms to supporting lifesaving treatments.
**This position is offering a signon bonus of up to $5000**
Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday at our Queens location Thursday and Friday in our Midtown location from 8:30am to 6:30pm.
Pay:$28.00 $51.00 / hour
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.
We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4hour minimum. For example:
Mon Fri: 6pm to 8am $4.50/hr. Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm $4.50/hr. Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am $8.00/hr. Shift Differential
As an Cardiolgy Technician you will:
Start appointments and take a full patient history including obtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate respiratoryrateand blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate temperature blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
Inducemonitorand recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment for procedures.
Have a passion for mentoring and training other coworkers.
Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Additional VTS benefits pursuing & established VTS technicians.
Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1500 for CVT and VTS associates. NonCredentialed fulltime Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Fulltime CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Fulltime VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a prorated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
