Job Description

Applied is a leading valueadded distributor of bearings power transmission products engineered fluid power components and systems specialty flow control solutions and other industrial supplies serving MRO and OEM customers. With over 50 facilities located across Canada and 650 Associates Applied supports the steel mining forestry agriculture automotive oil and gas food processing power generation pulp and paper and transportation industries just to name a few. In addition Applied provides engineering design and systems integration for industrial fluid power and flow control applications as well as customized mechanical fabricated rubber fluid power and flow control shop services.
In this relationshipbased sales role you will report to the General Manager and will assist in maintaining commitments as we expand. You will grow your territory (and your earnings! by bringing in new business and developing repeat business relationships within your existing accounts. This will require that you call on engineers maintenance purchasing and others to determine their needs through a consultative approach to help clients achieve superior performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Responsible for new business development as well as maintaining existing territory
- Prospect for new customers set appointments and demonstrate product benefits
- Develops strategic relationships with customers to identify and leverage the customers business goals growth strategies and profit drivers and deliver the appropriate value proposition strategy
- Work with management to develop sales strategies and new business prospects
- Respond to customer product inquiries
- Engage in direct sales activities
- Promote existing and new products
- Anticipate client direction and objectives
- Manage a robust sales territory
- Maintain cooperative and productive team relationships
- Attend training and sales meetings as required
- Meet or exceed sales targets
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Preference will be given to individuals that show mechanical aptitude and have experience in industrial and agricultural type sales
- Be sales and service oriented
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner
- Have good organizational skills
- Ability to prospect for new clients
- Ability to utilize technology to source and find components and information
- Maintain customer relations and build new relationships
- Analytical and problem solving capability
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be able to build relationships with inside sales force
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Self motivated and the ability to work independently
- Deliver on growth and profitability
- Meet or beat annual sales goals
- Enthusiasm and desire to contribute to a winning culture
