The Adult Education Coordinator will plan organize and provide direct oversight of the daytoday operations of the Adult Education Program for the college including GED testing and ESL opportunities. The Adult Education (AE) Coordinator will manage/develop AE curricula conduct assessments and evaluate and track program participation as well as program outcomes maintain close working relationships with community and state agencies coordinate facilities for the program oversee AE staff secure/monitor grant funds and prepare/maintain an annual budget. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership in implementing AE goals and objectives at local regional and state levels; prepare review and analyze periodic reports to evaluate program effectiveness
- Write and secure grant funding for adult education program; oversee required financial program reports; continue seeking additional program resources and support
- Track and evaluate program satisfaction program outcomes and program reporting requirements; maintain federal/state datebases/documentation and submit required reports
- Maintain close working relationships with community and state agencies businesses and labor organizations who represent a diverse workforce secondary institutions and other community groups to publicize and market AE program; attend state AE meetings
- Work with appropriate HutchCC staff/departments to successfully transition various student populations to college level coursework/programs
- Recruit directly supervise/mentor and monitor performance of qualified AE instructors and staff
- Coordinate staff development and program improvement training and activities including regular staff meetings
- Oversee the Transition Coach work concerning academic advisement assessments and transition planning/referral services assisting with student recruitment/retention/completion
- Develop/manage curricula for AE GED and ESL instructional programming
- Develop and oversee AE annual budget monitoring expenses and revenue for program financial accountability
- Coordinate annual GED recognition ceremony when timing is appropriate
- Arrive on time for work attend work regularly and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Baccalaureate degree in adult education teacher education or related field with three years teaching/learning experience preferably in higher education (masters preferred).
- Administrative experience in grant writing budget preparation/management data entry and supervision of staff.
- Understanding of federal/state regulations for grantfunded programs.
- Ability to plan revise and update curricula in collaboration with instructional staff.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students staff faculty community partners and other HutchCC stakeholders in a studentcentered environment.
- Excellent oral/written communication organizational/planning and analytic skills.
- Computerliterate with skills in word processing spreadsheets and related software applications.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to manage interpersonal conflict situations requiring tact diplomacy and discretion.
- Ability to participate as a team member understand/interpret rules/regulations and adjust to change with a positive attitude.
- Ability to travel to other servicearea communities to work with AE program staff and students.

- Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications such as Word Excel Outlook.
- Visual acuity to view a computer terminal; appropriate judgment tact and courtesy in difficult situations; ability to understand words and respond effectively/appropriately.

SALARY and STATUS:
The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This fulltime administrative staff position is 12months annual benefit eligible exempt and atwill. This is a continuing longterm grant funded position.
