General Summary:
Under general supervision Lead Case Specialist maintains the caseload and work overload for vacant positions within the Case Management Department. The Lead Case Specialist performs various job functions assigned by the Program Supervisor when the supervisor is out of the office and/or the Case Management Team. The Lead Case Specialist exercises sound judgement to make independent decisions compliant and aligned with agency standards and program regulation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Within the team structure the Case Specialist Lead provides case management services to families enrolled in subsidized child care programs which include the following responsibilities:
Case Management 60
- Receive and process documentation submitted by families and child care providers in a timely manner and according to program regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct facetoface meetings both scheduled and by walkin with families and child care providers in order to receive and process documentation and/or discuss changes in the familys case.
- Review family cases and request appropriate documentation to maintain family eligibility and program compliance.
- Certify and recertify families within specified timeframes including families with special circumstances such as CPS.
Workflow Delegation and Monitoring Support 40
Provide supervisory support and in partnership with Supervisor delegate and monitor team workflow:
- Review cases for distribution to ensure allocated cases are appropriately distributed
- Delegate predefined tasks to program support staff with clear instructions and expectations regarding procedures and policies of program operations.
- Review delegated work checking on target dates and progress of tasks and authorize requested actions to parents and providers (e.g. Notices of Action).
NonEssential Duties And Responsibilities
These duties include tasks that are required but currently comprise of less than 5 of the daily workflow for this job:
- Participate in departmental agency and professional meetings and workgroups as assigned.
- Assist Case Management Department Manager in developing policies and procedures to meet County State and Federal program requirements and agency goals.

Minimum Required
- Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required and 2 years of equivalent related work experience (experience in Child Development Social Work Psychology Human Services Family Studies or related field)
- Professional/Technical Certifications: n/a
- Technical Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Windows based programs and data entry
- Bilingual Required: n/a
- Behavioral:
- Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to honor confidentiality and work sensitively and supportively with participating families.
- Ability to make independent decisions within parameters assigned by program supervisor and within the scope of the job description based on information at hand and established Case Management Department guidelines.
- Ability to complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.

- Work Schedule: Hybrid. Ability to work a regular full time schedule; overtime may be required as needed. Late shift schedule until 7 pm one Monday a month required.
- Work environment: Ability to work in a teamoriented general office environment.
- Background & Health Clearance Requirements: Background check required. As a grantfunded Agency supporting Children and Family Services CCRC conducts background checks commensurate with the role to verify candidate qualifications (criminal history employment history / experience education reference checks) and ensure grant compliance. Specific roles may have additional verification / clearance to the standard background check as part of the recruitment and selection process including:
- Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health and Safety Code Section1596.871 and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.90.
