Inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner Warrah has been offering quality supports and services for adults and children living with disability for over 50 years. Warrah is a vibrant community enriching the lives of individuals through our broad range of services which include Supported Independent Living (SIL) Community Support Services (CSS) and Warrah Specialist School. We also have a certified Biodynamic Farm and Farm Shop.
Warrah Specialist School is seeking a passionate and qualified FullTime School Teacher to join our dedicated team. We provide a caring and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of students with disabilities from K 12 fostering academic growth through individualized education plans and handson learning experiences.
As a teacher at Warrah Specialist School you will be responsible for:
Delivering engaging and individualized lessons aligned with NSW Board of Studies and Steiner Education Australia Curriculum requirements.
Creating and implementing individual education plans that support the diverse learning needs of our students.
Incorporating outdoor learning and practical activities such as woodwork weaving music drama cooking gardening and farming.
Participating in school meetings events and professional development activities.
Collaborating with colleagues families and the wider Warrah community to support student learning and wellbeing.
Essential and Preferred Criteria:
Bachelor of Education.
Experience in supporting students with intellectual disabilities and special needs preferably primaryaged.
Strong ability to listen and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs interests and abilities.
Commitment to inclusive education and supporting the rights and interests of people with disabilities.
Understanding of or willingness to engage with Rudolf Steiners Curative Education principles.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn the NSW Board of Studies and Steiner Education Australia Curriculum.
Welldeveloped interpersonal communication and documentation skillsand the capacity to build and maintain relationships and trust.
Demonstrates empathy professionalism and a willingness to explore innovative teaching methods.
Ability to prioritize tasks manage time effectively and work independently and within a team.
NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) and Working with Children Worker Check (WWCC).
A current NSW drivers license.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Proficiency in IT and digital tools for teaching and documentation.
Experience and passion for gardening/horticulture stream of learning will be an advantage.
