South Puget Sound Community College(SPSCC) seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as the Student Admissions & Clinical Coordinator.

This position supports the Colleges mission to support student success in postsecondary academia transfer and workforce education that meets the needs of the South Sound region supporting efforts to implement administer and coordinate instruction with students staff and the public regarding the Allied Health programs content policies procedures and activities in addition to ensuring compliance with all state and federal accrediting bodies

Essential Function Student Admission and Support

Tasks include:


Essential Function: Liaison for Clinical Placements

Tasks include:

  • Serve as a single point of contact on allied health clinical placements for students and faculty.
  • Work with the business office to obtain signatures and renew and/or terminate affiliation contracts between South Puget Sound Community College and clinical sites.
  • Collaborate with clinical sites partners and various software programs throughout the onboarding process.
  • Maintain good working relations with current clinical partners.
  • Coordinate with various partners throughout the academic year to ensure that clinical placements occur.
  • Ensure that faculty and students meet the clinical placement timelines and expectations outlined in clinical affiliation agreements and best practice standards.
  • Assist students/faculty in navigating clinical placement platforms and processes.
  • Lead orientation of students/faculty to clinical including sites.
  • Collaborate with faculty to address student and clinical site concerns or issues related to clinical placements in an equitable manner.
  • Maintain a list of agency partner contacts.
  • Regularly attend Clinical Placements Northwest (CPNW) meetings and report proceedings to the dean.

Essential Function: Records Management

Tasks include:

  • Develop and maintain an accurate and secure electronic recordkeeping system.
  • Collect and track academic immunization health insurance background training and any other necessary verification.
  • Train students and faculty on the proper methods for submitting information.
  • Verify that faculty have completed the necessary immunizations and sitespecific training for supervising student clinical experiences.
  • Verify that students have completed necessary immunizations and sitespecific training for clinical placements
  • Share records with workbased learning sites
  • Complete annual placement grids based on department needs and alignment of student learning outcomes.

Essential Function: Communication

Tasks include:

  • Develop and implement informational and training materials on clinical placements for students program faculty and site contacts
  • Develop information sheets timelines and online and facetoface training for students faculty and site contacts.
  • In collaboration with the program chair faculty and dean develop and/or update the clinical sections of student handbooks.

Qualifications You Possess

Knowledge Skills Abilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing Science or equivalent from an accredited institution.OR
  • An equivalent mix of education and experience (minimum 23 years) that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position (e.g. spreadsheet experience project management effective communication attention to detail).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
