Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) seeks an energetic studentfocused professional
to serve as the Director of Student Success. In this pivotal role youll champion our institutions
comprehensive efforts to support retain and empower students throughout their academic
careers.
Position Overview
As director youll serve as the universitys principal retention coordinator overseeing academic
support services and intervention programs for atrisk and probationary students. Coordination of
success efforts for our firstyear undergraduates will be an important component of the work.
Your leadership will ensure that students receive the resources and guidance they need to thrive
academically. Your perspective will provide valuable insights to university leadership on student
success and retention initiatives. You will be able to shape support services while working
closely with the provost and academic leadership.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students lives while
working collaboratively across the university. Youll help students navigate the complex
academic decisions ahead of them by fostering their understanding of the university
environment. You will be able to develop programming that empowers their success and create a
safe space for those students facing academic challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive student success strategies that address the needs
of our diverse student population.
Manage intervention programs for atrisk and probationary students including academic
coaching sessions.
Support undeclared students through academic advising and major selection guidance.
Oversee the universitys EAB Navigate platform providing training and coaching to
students faculty and staff.
Collaborate with the Assistant Director to support firstgeneration students in our
Trailblazers program.
Supervise coordination of tutoring and other academic support services.
Work with academic departments to address systemic impediments to student success.
Partner with Enrollment Management Academic Affairs and Student Life on campuswide
events.
Develop and assess academic success workshops and programming.
Provide regular datadriven reports to university leadership on retention and student
success outcomes.
Teach one section of our firstyear orientation course in both fall and spring.
Qualifications
Masters degree in higher education or related field
Minimum three years of experience in academic advising and student success
programming
Outstanding ability to work effectively with students faculty and administrators
Strong academic advising and decisionmaking skills
Experience with EAB Navigate strongly preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with data analysis
Ability to quickly learn university software systems for academic support and advising
