BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (RAIL & LOCOMOTIVE INDUSTRY)

ROSEBANK JOHANNESBURG GAUTENG PROVINCE

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric
  • B. Comm. Honours Degree(ESSENTIAL)in Business Administration Marketing or related field
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent(ADVANTAGEOUS)
  • Certificates in Sales and Marketing such asCIM or CPM & MBA
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience inBusiness Development Marketing or Sales(Preferably in the rail or locomotive industries)
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience within the rail and locomotive industry(ADVANTAGEOUS)
  • Technical knowledge required:Familiarity with the rail & locomotive industry including products services and market trends
  • Proficient on allMS Office programmeswithMS Projects
  • Proficient onSage Pastel ERP
  • Must have strong business acumen including financial management market analysis and strategic planning
  • Ability to lead and manage crossfunctional teams
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Fluent in English Afrikaans and other local languages(ADVANTAGEOUS)
  • Valid drivers license (no endorsements) & own reliable vehicle(ESSENTIAL)
  • Candidates willing to relocate to Rosebank Johannesburg at own cost will be considered

JOB FUNCTION & KEY PERFORMANCE DUTIES:

  • Costing and modeling knowhow
  • Strong administration experience
  • Highly experienced in Tender preparation and documentation including presentation of Tenders
  • Highly experienced in business development within rail / locomotive transport and logistics
  • Market Analysis:Conduct market research and analysis to identify business opportunities and trends
  • Business Strategy:Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company objectives
  • Customer Relationship Management:Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Sales and Revenue Growth:Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales and revenue growth
  • Product Development:Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop new products and services
  • Partnership Development:Develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers partners and other stakeholders
  • Proposal Writing:Prepare and submit proposals tenders and bids to secure new business
  • Contract Negotiation:Negotiate contracts and agreements with Customers Suppliers and Partners
  • Performance Monitoring:Monitor and report on business development performance including sales revenue and customer acquisition

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS):

  • Sales and revenue growth
  • Customer acquisition and retention
  • Market share growth
  • Partnership development and management
  • Proposal and tender success rates
