Job Description
This research assistant will be focused on the public policy aspects of telecommunications competition cybersecurity federal acquisition and the future of work.
As such the applicant will need experience navigating the record in the appropriate policy forums. The applicant should have an interest at the intersection of technology and policy often where there is no clearcut technology solution between competing stakeholders.
The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in statistical analysis content analysis and legal analysis as research tools. As a public policy researcher the research assistant will need to have a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
The successful candidate will also have experience in creating FOIA requests reviewing relevant legislation and key court cases relevant to the research project.
The ideal candidate will be able to assist the team in reviewing and understanding the needs of commercial federal and academic stakeholders in the technology industry space. The ideal candidate will have work experience in all three sectors preferably with a communications background.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing and effectively presenting policy research reports to a larger team and relevant stakeholders. Experience moving original research from design to academic publication is preferred.
This position also requires considerable writing for the policy audience. Thus experience writing on complex technical topics for the policy audience is a requirement. Clear understanding of general concepts and verbiage associated with both the commercial and federal use of key technology services is also highly preferred.

Masters Degree
Currently pursuing an advanced degree in a relevant field
Experience in creating FOIA requests
Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis content analysis and legal analysis as research tools

This is an internship position aimed at future or current doctoral students for the summer with the aim to extend into the fall pending satisfactory performance.
Due to the nature of this position we are unable to sponsor work visas.
