Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Summer Legal Intern to support our Legal and Regulatory Departments. This internship offers handson experience in a multijurisdictional legal environment providing exposure to crossborder corporate legal operations and a broad range of areas of law from employment to corporate to regulatory and policy advocacy. This role will involve contract review legal research and writing preparing regulatory submissions and filings assisting with regulatory compliance matters and supporting general corporate legal projects.
Responsibilities
Review analyze and summarize contracts NDAs and other legal documents.
Assist with regulatory compliance tasks including research and tracking updates to relevant laws and regulations.
Conduct legal research and prepare memos on various corporate and commercial law topics.
Draft regulatory submissions and assist with hearing preparation.
Support corporate governance initiatives such as drafting policies and maintaining legal records.
Prepare reports presentations and training materials for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Current enrollment in a Canadian law school.
Strong research writing and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written). The employee will collaborate with stakeholders outside of Quebec.
Interest in corporate or inhouse legal practice is a plus and knowledge of both common and civil law systems.
