Job DescriptionTitle:Lunch/Recess MonitorReports To: PrincipalEvaluated By: PrincipalPosition Function/Job Purpose: Ensures a safe pleasant and effective atmosphere during the lunch and recess periods. Enforces school policy and behavior management practices. Qualifications:Experience working with elementary aged children.Willingness to support the schools mission and vision. Ability to maintain student confidentiality. The successful candidate will have:Skills to manage students during lunch and recess periods. Knowledge of conflict resolution and the schools policy and procedures around student behavior. Dispositions include providing consistent fair and policybased direction to students; maintain confidential and sensitive information; communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; communicate in oral and written form.Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesSupervises lunch and recess periods. Establishes and maintains a positive climate during lunch.Participates in principals staff meetings and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.Keeps the Teachers and/or Principal informed of issues that may arise during lunch or recess.Maintains confidentiality of all student information. Follows the schoolwide behavior plan.Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.Work Environment: Be able to work in a close environmentBe able to work in moderately noisy environmentBe able to handle frequent interruptionsPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 25 lbs.Be physically and emotionally capable of carryingout responsibilities and duties in a busy computerized environment.
