Job Summary

The Service Manager manages the service department and handles customer service interactions reports and repairs. Responsibilities include providing the highest level of customer service developing lasting customer relationships and managing service team members. The service manager maintains a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices as well as the companys products and services.

Essential Functions

  • Delegating and directing service tasks and monitoring the progress of current work orders to ensure the teams goals are met.
  • Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
  • Compile service proposals and contracts to secure business.
  • Assume overall responsibility for 5s process in the shop and ensuring an efficient and safe work environment for all team members.
  • Complete and execute strategic planning initiatives related to sales and profitability of the service department.
  • Ensure work order processing flow and timely and accurate billing.
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealerships area of responsibility.
  • Recruits interviews hires and trains new staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive feedback realtime and during checkins.
  • Schedules approves time offrequests coaches counsels disciplines and recommends pay adjustments for department staff.
  • Handles discipline and termination of team members in accordance with company policy.
  • Training and development of staff.
