Job Description
Delta is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to provide an efficient costeffective and compliant procurement service to our Chain Valley Colliery located to the south of Newcastle NSW.
This role is essential in ensuring the seamless acquisition of goods and services whileoptimising costs and maintaining compliance with company policies and standards.
Underground mining experience is highly desirable as you will work closely with technical teams and suppliers to support our operations.
What you will do
Manage RFQs and tenders for goods and services including preparing scope of works evaluating submissions negotiating contracts and conducting performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with company policies and standards in all procurement activities.
Review and assess technical specifications to ensure accuracy and suitability.
Conduct market research to secure competitive pricing and mitigate procurement risks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative supply strategies and negotiate costeffective agreements.
Follow up on purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Oversee inventory trends ensuring stock availability and recommending product alternatives when necessary.
Participate in procurement initiatives and projects to drive operational efficiencies.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detailoriented professional with:
Strong procurement experience in a heavy industry environment (mining preferred).
A technical understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
A dynamic resilient and responsive approach to problemsolving.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
