Provide interpreting services for deaf and hard of hearing students in a variety of educational settings.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Valid certification as interpreter granted by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Texas Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be 18 years of age
Ability to interpret in an educational setting
Abide by TheInterpreter Code of Ethics
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work with deaf or hard of hearing students
Ability to read and interpret documents
Be able to voice for a deaf or hard of hearing student if needed
Experience:
Experience interpreting with deaf and hard of hearing students
6. Maintain cofidentiality.
7. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
8. Participate inHCSEC meetings and special events as assigned.
9. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling squatting bending and stooping
