Primary Role
The primary goal of this position is to work closely with the Producer to manage the retention servicing and new sales efforts for a book of business.
Job Functions:
- Independently manage work flow for the client lifecycle
- Analysis and marketing of employee benefits programs (especially individual and aggregate stoploss insurance)
- Assist in the development of sales and renewal strategies
- Preparation of renewal and new business proposals presentation materials and supporting documents as necessary (benefit and financial analysis)
- Provide claims eligibility billing and plan administration advocacy and resolution
- Carrier and Vendor contract review analysis and negotiations
- Maintain effective working relationships with Carriers and Vendors
- Maintain broad knowledge base of Carrier and Vendor products and underwriting requirements
- Experience and claims report preparation & analysis oversight provided by Underwriting
- Delegation of specific tasks to Account Assistant/Administrative Assistant if applicable
- Provide PeerReview for other team members
- Maintain respectful relationships
- Assist in the training and development of other team members
- Participate in the development and of company initiatives
- Other duties as required by clients business needs or assigned by management
Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive working knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issues
- Experience managing alternative funding arrangements selfinsured benefit plans TaftHartley Trust Tribal or other specialized business expertise
- Excellent communication presentation and writing skills required
- Exceptional abstract reasoning and analytical abilities
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situations
- Skilled at balancing tight timelines and competing priorities while maintaining a customerfocused positive attitude
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite specifically Word Excel & PowerPoint
- Project Management experience a plus
- Experience managing confidential information (HIPAA)
- Pleasant cando customer service attitude
- High level of personal initiative integrity and professional ethics
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations both internally and externally
- Commitment to ongoing professional continuing education
Experience and Education
- College Degree or equivalent job experience
- Minimum 5 years experience working with Employee Benefits Programs in a brokerage or equivalent setting
- Applicable state life and health license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Maintain professional designation(s) (RHU REBC CEBS etc.
Other Requirements:
- Day and overnight travel may be required
- Dependable personal transportation
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Valid/Current drivers license and proof of insurance
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $65000$70000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
