Job Summary
Responsible for Safe operation of CNC Machine(s) and assisting the Supervisor with daytoday activities including support training team members and monitoring production within the Job Shop. The position is also responsible for assisting Supervisor with running production to achieve day to day department production requirements.

Work Arrangement: Onsite
Work Location: 90 Belfield Rd. Etobicoke ON
Shift: Day Shift (Mon Fri 6:30am 3pm)

As a Team Leader (Job Shop) you will:

  • Set up adjust and operate CNC machine(s)
  • Monitor machine operation and perform trouble shooting tactics when necessary.
  • Use manual pump trucks cranes (over head / jib) and lift devices as required to move material and finished product(s)
  • Ensure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards target plans andverify correct run quantities.
  • Seek to reduce s levels by continuous improvement.
  • Assist in leading daily start up meetings & maintaining production boards as required.
  • Assist with coordinating cross departmental / shift activities or initiatives.
  • Assist in ensuring the team follows all department organizational and Human Resources policies & procedures.
  • perform quality spot checks.
  • Supports Supervisor with problem solving and making recommendations for daytoday production.
  • Assume some responsibilities of the Supervisor when the Supervisor is absent.
  • Participate and share input for Team Members performance reviews
  • Monitor the safety of team member work areas.
  • Participate in Gemba walks investigations inspections corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act safety policies and procedures.

Who are we looking for Someone who has:

  • Three 3 years experience within a production environment running CNC operations & equipment.
  • One 1 year experience in a leadership role supporting CNC operations & equipment.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing concepts an asset
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings (blueprints)
  • Familiar with CNC equipment and Processes within a Job Shop environment.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other MRP systems MS Office Outlook Word Excel
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) excellent listening skills and strong ability to understand issues to support team members as required.
  • Ability to instruct train and coach others.
  • Ability to adapt to meet on the fly to meet the needs of department and customers.
  • Ability to follow and Create work instructions to meet production targets.
