Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Admissions Coordinator is responsible for conducting comprehensive data validation. Data validation components include insurance verification patient demographics determining legal guardianship and point of service collections. This position requires integral communication with patients insurance companies department administrators physicians and other departmental staff to ensure the ideal patient experience.

Rotating Shift Casual / On Call 10 Hours Per Week

Location: St. Petersburg

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Gathers validates and documents required registration data; obtains all required forms and signatures to properly identify the legal guardian and insurance plans
  2. Verifies and documents eligibility and benefits for all thirdparty payers to ensure proper reimbursement for services
  3. Obtains complete and accurate demographic and billing information by identifying the correct insurance plan and subscriber information to ensure proper reimbursement for services
  4. Resolves all patients financial issues including arrangement for patient responsibility i.e. state or federal programs selfpay or payment plan to ensure proper reimbursement for services
  5. Accurately interprets insurance verification in order to communicate benefit information to the responsible party for point of service collections
  6. Collects time of service payments and any prior balances related to patient responsibility
  7. Provides an excellent patientcentered experience to physicians coworkers patients and families and all other internal and external customers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma GED Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement
  • 1year minimum experience in insurance verification and interpretation billing and collections and a comprehensive understanding of managed care contracts preferred
  • 1 year minimum of healthcare experience working for a health plan physician practice surgery center or hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge of county state and federal programs such as Medicaid and Medicare

Salary Range: Minimum$15.23per hour Maximum$24.36per hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
