The HR Generalist will support various aspects of Human Resources as part of the MidwestWest (MWW) HR team. The position will report to the Human Resources Director for our region and will work collaboratively with the region to assist with the on the human capital elements of our business strategy. The HR Generalist is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the Human Resources management function. This includes serving as the point person for HR related issues and inquiries from managers and employees.
The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent organizational project management and communication skills as well as a deep understanding of HR operations. They will also need experience with HR systems (ideally Workday) and Microsoft Office applications.
Job Duties:
- Serve as the main point of contact for general HR inquiries including but not limited to policies employee data benefits HR systems and providing topnotch support to our employees and business leaders.
- Address business challenges by presenting data driven recommendations through the use of reports and metrics.
- Coordinate and facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding
- Manage the entry of tasks within the human capital management system (Workday) such as compensation employee termination job changes and other related transactions as may be assigned
- System administration and updates Update and review the human capital management system (Workday) and other systems to ensure data is accurate and that employee changes are approved and processed efficiently and in a timely manner. Follow through promptly on employee and leader requests and inquiries.
- Engagement Support and drive local initiatives and identify opportunities to build on our thriving community at HUB. Coordinate local engagement events such as Employee Appreciation Day and our Annual Holiday Party.
- Employee relations and advocacy Advise managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues including coaching researching/investigating situations and recommending business driven proactive and inclusive solutions.
- Track employee referral bonuses and submit to payroll for timely payment
- Problemsolve using logic reasoning collaboration and solid HR skills to resolve difficult employee situations
- Foster a culture of teamwork and respect through effective coaching and implementation of Company standards and guidelines
- Provide specific deliverables such as weekly reports and strategic plans
- Successfully manage multiple competing priorities and simultaneous projects with aggressive timelines
- Directly support assigned practice area(s) with HR matters
- Support the HR Leaders efforts to work with managers and employees to address and resolve human resources matters through daytoday guidance on performance management (coaching counseling development effective documentation and disciplinary actions)
Qualifications:
- Must have 25 years of Human Resources experiencein an internal client facing role
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Society of Human Resource ManagementCertified Professional (SHRMCP) designation desirable
- Insurance industry experience preferred but not required
- Proven ability to work with remote locations
- Exceptional organizational skills and very high attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines without compromising quality
- Excellent time management with a high sense of urgency and a proven ability to meet deadlines
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and use the utmost discretion and use sound judgement in sensitive situations
- Proficient in using HR systems (Workday preferred) and tools developing and facilitating presentations and comfortable with public speaking
- Track record of developing and maintaining strong trusting relationships with clients at all levels of the organization
- Excellent initiative and intuitiveness
- Be a positive ambassador for the company and promote goodwill in the region and the organization
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel and Outlook
- Must have the ability to travel up to 10 of the time with pockets of additional travel

The expected salary range for this position is $and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
