Job Description

Court Security Manager


About the role:
As part of our recently extended contract with the Department of Justice Ventia have a rare opportunity for a Court Security Manager to join the Midland Court House team in WA


This role will see you as a critical member of the operational management team where you will be supported and mentored by the Assistant Directorand will see you assist in the delivery of an effective and efficient court operation and support the development of your team.

In addition you will be responsible for the daytoday performance of the Custody Officers under your control as well as the management of custody areas within court.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise staff in the manned court area
  • Prepare duty rosters including allocating daily duties and staff
  • Liaise with the Court Coordinator on all staffing matters
  • Check all warrants and other relevant official paperwork in your delegated court
  • Ensure that all courts within the cluster are effectively manned
  • Ensure monthly audit compliance


Skills and experience:

  • Certificate III & IV in Corrective Practice preferred but not mandatory
  • Senior First Aid & CPR or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and supporting staff preferably within a custodial environment
  • Thorough knowledge of the PIC court and custody business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong leadership potential
  • Great computer skills for the purposes of reporting and ensure the data capture management system (ePEMS) is kept up to date in all aspects
  • Great communication skills to engage with stakeholders including courts and police amongst other
  • The ability to problem solve and act on your own initiative
  • Applicants must be flexible (working hours) and have a positive outlook


What we offer:

$110000 TFR (Annual salary Super)

Other mandatoryconditions to be eligible for this position:

Be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen (people holding visas will not be considered)
Be able to obtain and maintain an Australian FederalPolice Check Criminal History Check&Working with Children Check
Undergo a preemployment clinic medical including a drug & alcohol test
