Our Development Management Service plays a fundamental role in shaping the future of Wiltshire by determining planning applications for new developments. We support the Councils business plan through encouraging new development promoting economic growth and protecting and enhancing the environment for sustainable development.
As a Senior Urban Design Officer you will be part of the new Conservation and Design Team working on matters relating to good design. This will include daytoday scrutiny of proposed new developments at every stage from development plan making to the decisionmaking of planning applications working closely with the Councils planners applicants partners (including Design Review partners) and all others interested in the planning process.
Senior Urban Design Officers seek to improve proposals and lift the quality of new development across the county. You will be expected to provide innovative and creative solutions to support sustainable development in line with Wiltshires placeshaping objectives. Additionally you will provide support and guidance to the Councils officers and members to help educate them on the importance of good design.
