We are seeking a Director of Employee Relations & Investigations responsible for conducting investigations and providing expert consultation to managers and employees. As a key member of our collaborative HR team you will proactively support and maintain a positive employment climate while handling complex and sensitive cases in line with company policies and legal requirements. This role is based in Warren NJ working a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office 2 days remote. You will report to the Senior Vice President Head of HR Business Support for North America.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigations: Conduct fair unbiased thorough independent and timely investigations that meet company standards and legal requirements. Make credibility assessments and determinations based on evidence gathered. Document findings that that clear concise and executive ready.
Consultation: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to leaders and colleagues on all employee relations issues policy interpretation and questions. Advise and support managers in performance management corrective action attendance and disciplinary matters.
Policy Development: Design and enhance employeerelated policies that are compliant with federal state and local laws. Update the Employee Handbook as needed and ensure policies align with best practices and company culture.
Training and Education: Participate in and facilitate training and education programs as needed to promote a positive and productive work environment.
Market Oversight: Report on employee relations activity and trends identify root causes and recommend appropriate solutions to improve workplace culture.
Required Qualifications:
At least 5 years of relevant employee relations experience in a Human Resources or Legal (Law Firm) setting
At least 3 years of investigations experience
Strong knowledge of employment laws (EEO FMLA ADA etc. and regulations
Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to identify needs/issues quickly
Excellent communication interpersonal and conflictresolution skills
Ability to influence and navigate complex organizational dynamics
Ability to work effectively as a valuable partner with all levels of management
Strong relationshipbuilding skills and collaborative work style
Excellent time management planning and organizational skills
Bachelors Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
PHR/SPHR certification(s) a plus
Experience developing and writing HR policy a plus
Experience with a case management system a plus
J.D. and/or Masters a plus
