Position Summary The Labor Relations Director is responsible for managing all aspects of labor relations including union matters organizing campaigns benefits and compliance. This role serves as a strategic partner to HR and operational leaders ensuring consistent and effective labor practices across the organization. The Director also acts as the primary liaison with clients and legal counsel on union-related issues and supports workers compensation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs); manage grievances and disciplinary actions.
Support contract negotiations and serve as liaison between management and union representatives.
Maintain accurate union employee records including seniority transfers terminations and other transactions.
Collaborate with HR and payroll to ensure union employees data is correctly processed (PCNs wage changes PTO etc.).
Represent the company in arbitration EEOC NLRB and other legal matters involving union employees.
Support the development and implementation of labor relations policies and procedures.
Monitor and report on labor relations trends and activities to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Human Resources Labor Relations or related field preferred.
1 2 years of experience in labor relations or a similar role (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Strong understanding of labor law CBAs and HR processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to travel up to 60 100% of the time and remain available for assignment activities 24/7/365.
