VIgrade is part of HBKs Virtual Test Division which provides realtime software simulator and hardwareintheloop solutions to virtually test products throughout the development cycle helping companies accelerate innovation reduce physical prototypes and timetomarket and improve their competitive advantage.
Our realtime simulation and professional driving simulator solutions include static deskside solutions through to fullscale driverintheloop dynamic simulators. We deliver turnkey solutions to enable transportation industry OEMs suppliers research centers motorsport teams and universities to accelerate product development. This includes supplying proprietary software hardware services and an open framework for customization.
Virtual Test employs 250 highly skilled colleagues worldwide and has offices in Germany Italy France UK China Japan and the USA as well as a broad network of worldwide channel partners.
Position Overview:
You will work as an intern member of the Operating Systems Team performing realtime research and development tasks from which you will create a publicly accessible technical paper that will be published on Concurrent RealTimes official website.
Core Function:
You will utilize the latest Robot Operating System (ROS) software along with the latest RedHawk Linux realtime product running on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin robotics platform.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Configure run and tune a realtime simulation of an inverted pendulum.
- Modify ROS to add better support for gathering realtime metrics.
- Collect and summarize realtime benchmarking results.
- Create a technical paper capturing sufficient details to allow customers to easily reproduce these results.
- Perform additional Linuxspecific development tasks for future RedHawk Linux products (time permitting).
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for a currently enrolled juniorlevel or seniorlevel student majoring in Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering.
