The Adaptive Learning Center services students whose primary disability may include cognitive disabilities physical challenges complex medical needs multiple disabilities and/or communication needs that require a high level of individualization and support. Teaching approaches include: incidental/naturalistic instruction visual supports total communication approaches structured classroom environments/routines frequent opportunities to learn skills and movement and/or sensory regulation strategies.
- Design supervise implement maintain and evaluate a students IEP
- Plan and execute developmentally appropriate lessons make accommodations and modifications to the general curriculum as needed.
- Participate in the team meeting process and eligibility process (e.g. evaluating students for eligibility conducting academic testing conducting diagnostic testing reporting out at team meetings attending team meetings etc.
- Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with peers and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the building administration
