Network Management Support Macdill Air Force Base Tampa FL The Network Management Support assists the United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the communication directorate task area. The positions primary mission involves providing communication support to MARCENT as well as command control communications and computer (C4 policy advocacy to CENTCOM Communications (CCJ6 and HQMC agencies. The Network Management Support directly supports MARCENT G6 in the implementation and of its required functions to include enterprise network solutions information assurance division web portals for content management systems planning and engineering network operations and support and communication and IT planning including the design implementation and maintenance of upgrades and migrations for MARCENT networks. The Network Management Support will perform the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide Network Support services to the MARCENT G6.
- Assist in the design and implementation of upgrades and migrations for MARCENT voice video local and wide area networks.
- Configure and maintain equipment in support of voice over IP and video teleconferencing.
- Recommend new technologies for use with operational sites.
- Optimize data center infrastructure for enhanced functionality security and management.
- Assist with architecture and implementation of network and security solutions that meet or exceed internal and external command requirements by working closely with the users.
- Coordinate efficiently and effectively at all levels of the organization with all classifications.
- Support a client base of customers in a serviceoriented environment.
- Ensure services are provided to cover core hours of 0600 to 1800 Monday thru Friday (excluding Federal Holidays and maintenance schedule hours) and when required be available for after core hours consultation and recall.
- Account for system maintenance schedule every Thursday from 1900 to 2300.
EDUCATION - HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Compliant with current DoD IAT certification Level 1 or above or SEC NET certified and Voice/Video Network Certification preferably CISCO certified.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in providing network support services including configuring and maintaining local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) and supporting voice over IP (VoIP) and video teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
- Handson experience with designing and implementing network upgrades and migrations ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Involvement in optimizing data center infrastructure for better functionality security and management.
- Experience with the architecture and implementation of network and security solutions working closely with endusers to meet command requirements.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities - Strong skills in designing configuring and maintaining network systems including upgrades and migrations.
- Effective at coordinating with various levels of the organization and managing client interactions.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word Power Point Excel etc. desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS - Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid drivers license current automobile insurance and a driving record that is acceptable to the companys auto insurance provider.
