Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as the Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the nowcounty department has expanded services for early prevention intervention and adult services.

Family Services Supervisor Overview:
Under the supervision of the Resource Services Manager this position is responsible for supervision of Family Navigators Family Support Coordinators and the facilitation of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings designed to coordinate resources for survivors of child sex trafficking. This role requires collaboration with the Child Sex Trafficking Care Coordination partners to develop and manage a network of programs and services tailored to the needs of survivors and their families.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Directly supervises and provides ongoing training to Family Navigators and Family Support Coordinators throughout the ongoing stage of care coordination to ensure effective service delivery.
Provides guidance direction and support to the Family Navigators and Family Support Coordinators regarding all their job duties.
Responsible for personnel matters including but not limited to hiring interviews monthly individual supervision performance evaluations and professional development of staff.
Works as part of the program leadership ensuring collaboration among the Crisis Team the Family Services Team partners and families to aid in service planning and development of recommendations for survivors continuity of care.
Ensures compliance of program operations with Care Coordination working protocols and grant requirements.
Serves as part of the oncall supervisor rotation and training rotation to enhance care coordination. Ensures the program operates within the budget parameters outlined by the grant funding.
Responsible for tracking monthly internal and quarterly external data reporting for the program.
Monitors annual Quality Improvement (QI) reviews chart audits data reports and satisfaction measures that demonstrate the effectiveness of services.
Responsible for developing a list of relevant services useful to families of minor survivors of commercial sexual exploitation as well as young adult survivors who transition to adulthood.
Develop broaden and maintain relationships with relevant service providers as part of the Family Services team.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Sociology Social Work Behavioral Sciences Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
Experience:
Minimum three 3 years of fulltime paid work experience working with children in youthserving agencies such as Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Harris County Resources for Children and Adults The local Mental Health Authority or a Juvenile Probation Department.
Minimum two 2 years fulltime paid supervisory experience with youthserving agency such as DFPS Harris County Resources for Children and Adults local mental health authority Juvenile Probation Department.
Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Case Management Software
Licensure:
Reliable transportation with a valid drivers license (Texas) and auto liability insurance.
Successful applicant will be required to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention The Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Practitioner Training (TBRI) training within 60 days of employment.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of protective services child and family development child management family systems and community resources.
Knowledge of county state and federal laws Texas Family Code statutes rules ordinances and regulations governing children.
Knowledge of principles practices and techniques of case management and administration case management documentation and records management.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with adolescents family members school and government officials law enforcement community partners and the general public.
Ability to communicate detailed and often sensitive information effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain the highest standards of ethical behavior exercising honesty and integrity respect confidentiality and fairness in the of their official responsibilities.
Skill in emphasizing valuing and dealing successfully with the special capabilities distinctive cultural histories and unique needs of people of various socioeconomic ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Must be selfdisciplined and work independently.
Ability to work as a team member to coordinate and manage multiple projects and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
