The School of Education (SOE) at Nevada State University invites applications for Associate/Full Professor of School Psychology to begin in Fall 2025.

About the School of Education at Nevada State University

Nevada State especially the School of Education is an exciting place to work. More than 1000 undergraduate postbaccalaureate and graduate students are currently pursuing licensure programs in elementary special & secondary education and speechlanguage pathology. An Ed.S. program in School Psychology will launch in the fall of 2024. Over the past decade the NS School of Education (SOE) has made bold steps to address the need for locally preparing more teachers and speech pathologists. The first masters degree on the campus a MA in SpeechLanguage Pathology launched four years ago. Teacher Academies have been built in partnership with local high schools. Aligned and enhanced articulation agreements with Nevadas twoyear colleges have been forged. Extensive systems to support the success of SOE students have been implemented. In 2021 the School of Education took another bold step in the early childhood education domain. Nevadas first baccalaureate level dual licensure in early childhood/early childhood special education program was launched followed by the opening of an Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). Both the program and the ECEC are housed in the recently opened and awardwinning Christenson Education Building.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in school psychology. (Teaching duties will align with NASP accreditation requirements.
• Assist with the school psychology graduate program in curriculum development and revisions program assessment and nurturing clinical partnerships.
• Assist with the preparation of NASP accreditation documentation processes and activities.
• Assist with recruitment and retention of students.
• Advise and mentor students in academic and professional development situations.
• Engage in service to the school college and profession at the local state and national level.
• Collaborate with others to apply for and secure external funding for program development and growth.
• Collaborate with the Nevada State University marketing team to promote the school psychology graduate program.
• Demonstrated dedication to working with diverse and firstgeneration student populations.

Required Qualifications:

• Must hold qualifications that may be equivalent to the rank of Associate/Full Professor upon review by the Nevada State University Promotion and Tenure Committee.
• Doctorate (Ph.D. Ed.D. Psy.D. in School Psychology.
• Demonstrated record of effective teaching in higher education using a variety of methodologies.
• Demonstrated record of research scholarly and/or creative productivity in the area of school psychology.
• Must obtain a school psychology license and/or have the potential to earn a Nevada Department of Education school psychologist license.
• A minimum of 35 years of experience working as a school psychologist in the PK12 setting.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor visas for international employees).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hold credential as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
• Knowledge and experience supporting PK12 schools with MultiTiered Systems of Support.
• Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
• Evidence of service to the profession campus and/or community.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Knowledge and expertise in areas closely aligned with school psychology including assessment ethics and law special education consultation and individual and group counseling.

Rank Salary & Benefits:

9month. Tenure track. Salary commensurate with experience.
