The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer to join our Strategy and Policy Division in the Climate Change Policy Team.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and analytic policy officer with good writing skills and an interest in climate change to join our team. Your key responsibilities will include:

Coordinating and contributing to strategic policy development by providing briefings and advice in response to Ministerial and Executive requests. This will cover various priorities such as regulatory policy reform legislative policy and economic policy.
Providing project management and support services to ensure the successful development and delivery of policy initiatives.
Conducting research analysis evaluation and writing to support the development of policy and legislative reforms.
Assisting in policy review and evaluation to assess appropriateness effectiveness and efficiency. This will help determine the need for corrective action and policy review for future planning and development.
Preparing highquality reports briefing notes and other written materials to contribute to the evidence base for policy advice and initiatives.

About the Team

The role is within the EPAs Strategy and Policy Division which leads the EPAs strategic and regulatory policy functions for all issues that fall within the EPAs remit including climate change air water noise forests contaminated land waste chemicals dangerous goods gas pesticides and radiation. You will be joining a passionate and highperforming division with a proven track record in delivering on the strategic priorities of the EPA and the NSW Government who are committed to supporting the EPAs ambition of being a world class regulator.

The Climate and Environment Protection Policy Branch leads policy that is highly visible and strategically important to the EPA and the NSW Government including climate change forestry and legislative reform. The Climate Change Policy Team is focused on delivering the EPAs Climate Change Policy and Action Plan. Team members have backgrounds in policy environmental science law and chemical engineering. The teams work requires agile and multiskilled team members capable of delivering on business priorities.
