Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe efficient and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining infrastructure and energy sectors.
Reporting to the Global Director of Information Management the Regional Director of Information Management (RDIM) will be responsible for all information management (IM) staff and activities within a geographical region (i.e. North America).
In the support of all Hatch projects within the region RDIMs will work closely with all Business Units and Regional Functional Directors (Engineering Procurement Construction Management etc. while driving and coordinating information management efforts with the wider Global Leadership Team.
As RDIM you will be responsible to develop build and manage a team of information management specialists across the following disciplines:
- Information Management
- Digital Delivery Management (BIM)
- Digital Operations Management
- Document Management
- Common Data Environment Management (project delivery systems)
As RDIM you are ultimately responsible for the digital strategies and processes that support the planning production and delivery of information for all regional projects. The RDIM is expected to be a leader and advocate for digital delivery and to drive the adoption of modern information management processes and tools within the region and its projects.
Key Responsibilities
General
- On a yearly basis develop and maintain a Regional Action Plan to drive the regional activities in alignment with the Global Discipline Roadmap for Information Management. Report to management on progress on a quarterly basis
- Coordination with global and regional leadership teams
- Engage with clients to understand their needs build relationships and support our Business Units in winning work
- Effectively lead and manage across functions and disciplines to maximize collaboration efficiency productivity and consistency in digital across the region
- Drive the development and adoption of processes and procedures in alignment with ISO 19650. Support ongoing efforts to certify with this standard at the regional and global level
- Provide digital thought leadership
People
- Management of all IM staff within the region including role assignments utilization management and reporting and career path development
- Manage Talent Acquisition activities to develop and build a world class IM team in support of Hatch project delivery and to provide dedicated IM service offerings
- Establishes develops and leads the Regional IM Council a group of senior IM practitioners that oversee IM activities within the region
- Establishes develops and leads the Regional Community of Practice providing a forum for IM staff communication coordination learning and development
- Coordinates with global initiatives including but not limited to the enterprise level Digital Transformation program
Process
- Lead role in coordinating pursuit support efforts to win work. Directs the development of digital delivery & operations strategies and preaward Information Management Plans as required. Assigns resources to support pursuits as required and provides governance over IM contributions to pursuits ensuring proposals have an effective digital strategy are appropriately resourced risk assessed and the right tools are deployed with their costs recovered
- Leads digital strategy development for pursuits engaging with stakeholders across Business Units Delivery Practices and Business Practices to maximize digital opportunities
- Drive compliance with Hatchs Minimum Digital Standards deploy and enforce global IM processes and procedures adjusting them as required at the regional level to suit project requirements
- Provides governance and oversight to ensure the digital strategy is developed and executed by IM teams at the project level particularly during project setup
Tools
- Drive the adoption of Hatchs new and modern Common Data Environment (project delivery systems) which is an integrated deployment of SharePoint/Azure ProjectWise BIM360 iTwin and a range of other integrated technologies to support project delivery
- Responsible for managing the team deploying and configuring Hatchs Common Data Environment (CDE) to all projects
- Provides governance and oversight to ensure appropriate CDE deployment during project setup
- Coordinates project feedback to improve the tools within the CDE providing recommendations to the Global Development Team to ensure constant improvement of all digital tools
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree in Engineering Computer Science or related fields
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Management (BIM Management)
- Experience of datacentric EPCM & digital delivery (BIM)
- Experience in managing the following Information Management disciplines: Information Management Digital Delivery Management (BIM) Digital Operations Management Document Management Common Data Environment Management
- Proven ability to engage and effectively communicate across all levels of business and project stakeholders to drive the level of change required to maximize the benefits of using digital delivery to execute and deliver projects
- Effective communication skills to facilitate group discussions and foster the level of teamwork and collaboration required for individuals to achieve optimum digital delivery performance
- Demonstrated competency as team leader who openly shares ideas and enjoys working closely with others to create and drive a collaborative team approach to deliver innovative outcomes
- Displays indepth technical knowledge of digital delivery applications relevant to an area of work and demonstrates application of solutions using technology. Ability to identify pursue and develop business opportunities to provide digital delivery data and information solutions and services to capital delivery projects and operational facilities
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of project including project controls EPCM processes contracting engineering construction management and awareness of project information models & data handover concepts as they relate to meeting client requirements
- Knowledge of global BIM standards including: ISO19650 PAS11923
- Detailed understanding of 3D intelligent modelling
- Detailed understanding of 4D simulation and advanced work packaging
- Detailed understanding of 5D quantity estimation and trending
- Experience in 6D and 7D data handover to support facilities/asset management and other operational use cases a major benefit
- Thorough understanding of data and document management and the ability to write documents from strategy to work instruction levels
- Thorough understanding of engineering data flows project systems implementation / integration requirements
- Welldeveloped communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively bridge communication between Delivery Teams and IM Teams
- Ability to work with different groups (internal and external) to build consensus
- Strong customer focus and understanding of client value propositions
