Job Description
As the General Accountant you will be part of the accounting department. Join us in this critical role and help us maintain our high standards of excellence.
The following are the essential job functions:
- Enter vendor invoices into the system including coding invoices to the proper general ledger account and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Communicate with vendors on invoice discrepancies and return calls for payment status.
- Add new vendors to the accounting system after verification of the appropriate paperwork.
- Send out monthly spending reports to managers and assist with cost analytics.
- Complete filing and documentation as required.
- Familiar with A/R functions and cash collections.
- Familiar with G/L journal entries.
- Familiar with G/L account reconciliations.
- Familiar with Inventory.
- Crosstrain learn and support other functions or processes as required.
Required Skills:
- Honest and fiscally responsible.
- Basic knowledge of accounting practices.
- Proven ability to multitask and work at a consistent pace.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Works well and is respectful of others.
- Team Player.
- Competent in Excel Word and accounting systems Sage preferably.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 23 years of experience in accounting preferred.
Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Able to work in an office environment with extensive time on the computer.
- Comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
