Job Description

Business Administrator (INTERNSHIP)
Internship Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Health Team Lead responsible for assisting the Health Team with planning coordinating and implementing services within the Health and Collaborative Services (HCS) department in accordance with agency work plans Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and other related federal citations.
Essential Internship Functions
The functions outlined in this unpaid internship description are examples of the general nature of those performed by interns in this position. Any combination of these functions and responsibilities may be performed. This list is descriptive only and should be used for no other purpose. Management retains the right to revise intern functions at any time. These functions are not to be considered as exclusive or all inclusive.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of health and nutrition education for staff parents and children. Including but not limited to scheduling planning and coordinating education opportunities.
  • Develop analyze and/or monitor systems and data related to health and nutrition related HSPPS requirements.
  • Assisting with community resource relationships as needed including but not limited to phone contacts information gathering and partner meetings.
  • Shadow HCS Leadership.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as data entry faxing and filling.
  • Assist with and complete HCS projects as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentially on all information and records by following FERPA and HIPPA guidelines as applicable.
  • Opportunity to experience other departments within agency as assigned.
Education/Experience
  • Current Internship requirement through an accredited college or other higher learning institute.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to maintaining satisfactory work relationships with the public
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction
  • Ability to read interpret and implement program guidelines
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Computer skills and knowledge
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements
Primarily and office position with local travel (exposure to normal traffic hazards). Work requires bending stooping lifting pushing and pulling throughout the day. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
