Client is seeking a highly experienced Project Engineer / Project Administrator to lead Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) activities for a major roadway and bridge project with the Florida Turnpike Enterprise in the Miami area. This is an exciting opportunity to manage complex transportation infrastructure while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily construction activities and ensure compliance with contract documents and FDOT standards.
Provide engineering expertise and technical oversight across all phases of construction.
Lead and assign duties to CEI inspectors ensuring effective resource allocation and performance.
Resolve technical and field conflicts quickly and efficiently to maintain project momentum.
Monitor project progress and monthly schedules; ensure on-time delivery of key milestones.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation in accordance with FDOT guidelines.
Communicate with stakeholders including contractors engineers FDOT/FTE representatives local agencies businesses and utility owners.
Interpret plans specifications and contract documents and advise field staff as needed.
Oversee quality assurance review completed work and determine eligibility for contractor payments.
Foster a positive team culture while supervising CEI staff and supporting professional development.
8 years of relevant CEI experience (or 6 years with a Civil Engineering degree; PE license preferred)
At least 3 years of experience as a CEI Project Administrator or Construction Project Manager
Strong working knowledge of FDOT standards procedures and specifications
Proven ability to lead project teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
Excellent analytical leadership and communication skills
Candidate must possess previously held or be eligible for recertification in:
FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
CTQP Final Estimates Level II
CTQP Quality Control Manager
Critical Structures Construction Issues
