Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Business Operations the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for managing all safety and compliance requirements including verifying Commercial Driver Licenses (CDLs) and training programs for CDL candidates and CDL drivers.

The Transportation Coordinator is also responsible for scheduling of vehicles and drivers and timely pickups for all routes.

The Transportation Coordinator supervises the Shuttle and Bus Drivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage all requirements for drivers and driver safety as per local state and federal laws and BGCA.
  • Provide training both written and practical for BGCTM employees seeking to obtain their Commercial Driver License (CDL).
  • Provide ongoing refresher training to all previously CDL licensed employees.
  • Schedule available vehicles and licensed CDL drivers to comply with established transportation needs and schedules.
  • Provide training on established transportation duties responsibilities and requirements.
  • Recruit interview and select candidates for positions that are in the Transportation Coordinator line of reporting.
  • Manage all administration of direct reports including timecards PTO requests and performance.
  • Coach and motivate direct reports to support employee engagement and retention efforts.
  • Address all staff conflicts seeking assistance from admin or HR as needed.
  • Schedule and provide available vehicles and drivers for use by external groups; i.e. Mater Academy encompass Redfield etc. within the parameters established in the Transportation section of the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain transportation logs and other necessary information.
  • Maintain Field Street parking lot.
  • Drive shuttles buses or other vehicles as needed.
  • ALL BGCTM employees have the responsibility to help maintain the safety of our members and staff and ensure an optimal Club experience for all.

Qualifications

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to communicate effectively with a diverse population and represent BGCTM professionally to the community.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to produce and provide data/reports in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Able to function well in a highpaced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

CERTIFICATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:

  • After hire will receive mandatory paid online and inperson training including Safety Skills CPR/First Aid etc.
  • After hire will be registered with Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
  • Must have a Commercial Driver License or obtain one within 6 months of hire.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to perform duties which require walking talking hearing standing sitting and/or bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel run and/or climb.
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer use the telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to perform surface and deep cleaning as needed.
  • Must be able to lift move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving lifting or manipulating.
