Registered Nurse Surgery Unit
$5000 Signon Bonus for Experienced RNs
Full Time 72 Hours Per Pay Period Variable Shifts

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is an awardwinning certified and accredited facility with 468 beds. As a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center Fort Sanders offers stateofthe art care that maximizes recovery from stroke. We are also the regions leader in technology in areas such as bariatric surgery robotic surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. Our doortoballoon times for heart attack patients are below the national average and our hip fracture center offers advanced diagnosis surgery and recovery procedures for hip patients.
Department Description:
At Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center we strive to provide outstanding patient care during emergent situations. The brandnew State of the Art Emergency Department at our hospital consists of 50 beds for providing such care. Staff in our emergency department work in a very fast paced environment to quickly assess conditions and stabilize patients in lifethreatening emergencies such as strokes heart attacks or severe injuries as well as less urgent medical issues.
Our staff consists of RNs LPNs CNA/PCAs and HUCs who work together to provide exceptional patient care. We have a supportive and familylike environment and welcome all new staff to our team with open arms!! We are very proud of our orientation process which will be tailored to your needs. Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; Coordinates care planning with other disciplines; Has the ability to lead and educate other nurses.

Responsibilities
- Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.
- Assesses needs of patient and family.
- Develops and initiates plan of care involving patient and family.
- Recommends interventions.
- Evaluates plan of care.
- Clinical expertise and knowledge is such that individual can resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without supervision.
- Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the agespecific needs of the population served.
- Leads process improvement initiatives in their department or participates on a facility team. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession and serves as a mentor to nursing students and other nurses. Applies leadership concepts skills and decision making in the provision of highquality nursing care and healthcare team coordination.
- Precepts new employees/students or attends formal preceptor workshop and is willing to precept. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.
- Provides four contact hours of educational activities excluding basic patient education.
- Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation program.
- Provides ongoing guidance and support to new nurses with an emphasis on multicultural care.
- Supervises LPNs Nursing Assistants HUCs Techs and sitters.Directs and delegates support personnel in implementing the patients plan of care provides guidance and immediately intervenes with deviation standards of care.
- Has the ability to work across sister units within the facility.
- Follows policies procedures and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of three 3 years professional experience.
Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN licensure. CPR required
