Letterwinners Engagement and Events Coordinator

Bachelors degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Event planning/coordination experience.
Hospitality experience working with donors and patrons for an athletics program.
Experience using social media platforms for marketing workrelated projects.
Degree in related field (hospitality event management sport management).

Job Description:

The Iowa State Athletics Department is accepting applications for the position of Letterwinners Engagement and Events Coordinator (event planner I). This position will assist the program by providing support services to constituents and serving as the primary event coordinator for multiple special events and banquets to maximize exposure for the Letterwinners Club.

  • Provides strong customer service to Letterwinners donors and patrons
  • Coordinates all aspects of assigned events from planning through the end of the event coordinates logistics orders decorations plans giveaways analyzes challenges and identifies alternative solutions
  • Maintains events calendar database and reports
  • Coordinates bids and contracts with vendors
  • Serves as manager on duty at events to ensure satisfactory problem solving and directs event staff and third party vendors
  • Maintains database with studentathletes award profiles and orders letter awards
  • Requires a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University Big 12 Conference andNCAA

The ideal candidates will be selfdriven and detailoriented with a strong focus on customer service. Candidates should be highly organized; have solid written and interpersonal communications skills; skill at coordinating events and using social media for marketing; ability to work with regular interruptions and manage multiple projects simultaneously; and be a problem solver. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse clientele. Must be available and flexible to work occasional evening and/or weekend events; able to lift and move up to 40 lbs; and able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
