The Environment and Planning division includes Central Forestry programs Forestry Operations the Natural Resources Group Nurseries and Planning teams. We are committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
Major Responsibilities
-Under general supervision with latitude for independent initiative and judgment perform difficult and responsible administrative work for the Environment and Planning division.
-Receive process and track correspondence assigned to the Environment and Planning division including messages routed by the Parks Commissioners office and those received via letter email or phone call from constituents and elected officials.
-Research and compose accurate and clear correspondence for constituents and elected officials on behalf of the Parks Commissioner Deputy Commissioner for Environment and Planning Assistant Commissioners and Chiefs before established deadlines.
-Work in tandem with other Agency and Division staff to compose and issue correspondence that meets agency and division standards and close out correspondence in the Agency tracking system.
-Correspond and interact with constituents via letter email and telephone to answer questions and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
-Assist with the maintenance and development of correspondence templates and tools.
-Perform statistical reporting on correspondence trends and response times.
-Assist with the copy editing of documents before the release to the Agency and/or public.
-Assist with preparation and review of information for media inquiries and elected officials coordinate materials for council hearings and represent the division at meetings with elected officials as needed.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
