Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a young dynamic and Afrikaansspeaking individual with a passion for IT security to join our team as a Trainee IT Security Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who has gained some work experience in IT and is eager to build a career in cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring identifying and responding to cybersecurity threats.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security protocols firewalls and other protective measures.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk mitigation efforts.
- Provide technical support related to security solutions and best practices.
- Assist in compliance and security audits to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest security threats trends and technologies.
- Work closely with senior security engineers and IT teams to enhance cybersecurity measures.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Passion for IT security and cybersecurity.
- Afrikaansspeaking (fluent in written and spoken communication).
- Some prior work experience in IT support networking or cybersecurity is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles threats and best practices.
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Eagerness to learn and develop in the cybersecurity field.
Preferred Certifications (Advantageous but Not Mandatory):
Any of the following certifications (or similar) will be a massive advantage:
CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist (CSIS)
CompTIA Security Analytics Professional (CSAP)
CompTIA Secure Cloud Professional (CSCP)

Proven experience as a Service Desk Technician or similar role, preferably in a global support environment. Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner. Familiarity with ITIL best practices and IT service management concepts. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Knowledge of remote support tools and techniques. IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
Education
